LUIGI MAFFINI: Modern wines in the ancient village of Paestum
There is a beautiful simplicity in the wines of LUIGI MAFFINI. Located south of the Amalfi coast in the picturesque and hilly Cilento region, Luigi grows and vinifies two classic grape varieties of the Campania region: the red grape Aglianico -- and a white grape, Fiano. Tying the wines to Paestum's history, the wines have classic Greek names -- Kleos and Kratos -- inspired by the ancient ruins in the village. Made in a pure, fleshed-out style, these wines are supremely elegant, age-worthy, and redolent with ripe fruit.
